"THE GANPATI"

I started this painting on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi on 17-Sep-15 and completed it today on the day of Ganesh Visarjan. For those who are not aware, Ganesh is the most lovable and cutest among all the Indian Gods. It is believed that he was born on the fourth day (chaturthi) of the Hindu lunar month Magh. Thus, in India ,the festival is widely celebrated as "Ganesh Chaturthi".

On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Ganesh clay idols are brought home and worshipped for 10 days. After 10 days, the idols are immersed in sea/rivers in full festive spirit.

I realised that this was the most effortless work i ever did. It seemed as if the image of the almighty found its way in the painting...I hope you like it!!
